Heaven On Earth, Osprey Cypress Sunset, by Susan Perz

I filmed this handheld in a boat on a lake in Florida with lots of ospreys and nests on a nature photography tour with Joseph Van Os Photo Safaris in March, 2020. Everything was shutting down for the pandemic behind us. One park literally closed the day after we left, but we managed to make it through the entire amazing, wonderful tour of Florida Birds with Mark Thomas, who is a Nature Photographer, tour creator, and our Van Os guide. Steve Culpepper was our boat driver and an unofficial local historian with lots of fascinating stories about the history of the lake and people. I filmed handheld for about 17 minutes straight with only very short breaks. It was a beautiful sacred gift to watch the sunset behind the cypresses amidst the sounds and sights of birds in flight. Our guide was kind enough to let us drift amidst the silhouetted beauty. Mary Tevis, another tour participant, was also patient to just let us drift. It was a peaceful, sacred evening. I never thought I would ever film anything this beautiful in my entire life, but there it was... a gift... from the sacred. I edited this lightly and left in the dialogue, so it would feel like you were on the tour with us. The color is the original color--not edited. Maybe I will re-edit someday as a meditation video. :0)
