Live: debate on tensions with Russia over Ukraine

MEPs debate with European Council President Charles Michel, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell about EU-Russia relations, European security and Russia’s military threats to Ukraine following the recent escalation of tensions in the region.

The European Parliament has repeatedly expressed its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Two weeks ago, a delegation of nine MEPs visited the country as part of an extensive and coordinated diplomatic effort to de-escalate tensions and avoid the disastrous consequences of a possible armed conflict.

On Monday, Parliament voted to launch an urgent procedure to approve a €1.2 billion loan to help Ukraine cover external financing needs in 2022.
