Ffestiniog Railway September 2020

Second of 3 videos of narrow gauge railways in Wales during a week in September.

Ffestiniog Railway was run an limited service of COVID-19 service of 6 round trips between Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch. Originally the plan was to head up for the Superpower weekend of the 11th-13th September but thats cancelled sadly. So it was rather lucky that i could spend a week up there so this is the footage from 11th to 17th September in some fine lovely weather expect for the Sunday 13th that was low cloud and drizzle! All trains ran on a 1960's based vintage set including a rare outing of bug boxes which usually sees on special trains & events.

4 engines was in use was FR Large george england no.5 Welsh Pony, FR Double Fairlie no.10 Merddin Emrys & Penrhyn Quarry Hunslets Blanche & Linda.

Shots included:-
Merddin Emrys- Outward - Boston Lodge Halt, Penrhyn station, Penrhyn Crossing, Gysgfa Crossing, Three gates crossing. Return - Crossing bothy & Minffordd Station

Blanche - all outward shots - 2x Porthmadog station, The cob, Rhiw plas bridge, Minffordd station, Gwyndy bank, Blake House Crossing/Penrhyn Station, Plas halt & Tan Y Bwlch station

Linda - all outward shots - The cob, light engine movement at the cob, Boston Lodge Halt, Minffordd station, Gwyndy Bridge, Penrhyn crossing, Rhiw Goch farm crossing & whistling curve

Welsh Pony - all outward shots - 2x Porthmadog station throat area, 2x The cob, Gwyndy bank & Rhiw Goch.

One of the main reasons why i came up to see one george england engine running which i did. I'd very much enjoyed the trip up there and i hope you enjoy this video!
