Manchester Ringway Airport is the third busiest airport in the nation, with flights of all varieties The airport provides regular direct flights to destinations worldwide by over 60 airlines. North American carriers at Manchester include American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and US Airways. The only scheduled UK operator serving the USA market is Virgin Atlantic. Manchester is also a major hub for Asian flights into the UK with airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Pakistani International, Etihad, Emirates and Qatar all serving the Airport. Until the 27th October, it was also a major hub for British Midland International (BMI) which ceased operations and became part of British Airways on that day.
