Seeing the hidden language in art: Laurie Frick at TEDxAustin
Laurie Frick draws from neuroscience to construct intricately hand-built works and installations to investigate the nature of pattern and the mind. In her highly personal art, she uses her background in engineering and high-technology to explore self-tracking and human patterns.
Her work is stunning to see...as it allows us to see something stunning. It's possible the language of art may soon be providing brand-new definitions.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
