This is a terrible idea and I recommend you NOT try this at home!

Recently purchased a non-running Prius. Never owned a Toyota or a hybrid previously.

Spent a solid week round the clock testing and refurbishing the hybrid battery pack.

Enormous amount of work.

Installed the pack, went for a test drive. While car moved under electric power, the engine did not start. This eventually caused the hybrid battery voltage to drop so low it would no longer attempt to start the engine.

Engine does not have a 12 volt starter, rather it uses the hybrid motor to start engine.

Dead hybrid batter = no start.
