Heresy & Hazard Stripes: Iron Warriors for the Age of Darkness [How I Paint Things]

They may have turned from the Emperor, but they're OSHA compliant.

Iron Warriors are an enduring favourite of mine. A seemingly simple colour scheme you can still do a ton with, and make every miniature an individual with heraldry and iconography made entirely of black and yellow stripes?! Glorious. They're a lot of fun to paint, and they look astounding on the table when you've got an army of them finished.

If you're curious about where the miniature comes from, Cults3D or Thingiverse are the places to start looking. For anything more specific, as a member of the Warrior Lodges might tell you, "I Can't Say."

THE BASE: Stirland Mud, drybrush heavily Orange Red (Vallejo) then Flat Flesh (Vallejo), or use Ryza Rust and Eldar Flesh. Paint rim in Rhinox Hide, add tufts to taste. While drybrushing the base, use the last of the 'dust' on your brush to flick over the legs and get them good and grimy!
