In this video I'm going to be comparing 4 big companies that are based in the additive manufacturing industry and seeing which one is the best bang for your buck. Some researchers even estimate a Compounded annual growth rate of a whopping 30% in the industry the next years. And it took quite a long time to extract all the data from Q10 filings and make these calculations. ARK Invest / Cathie Wood is buying most of these stocks too.

So, we've got XONE, 3D, Desktop metal and AONE or right now Markforged. Notably, all of these companies are sitting around the same size. About 2 to 3 billion except for XONE. That's why I have to tell you also to be carefull. XONE can be way more volatile due to it's very small market cap. Then looking at the revenue. Big differences here. Desktop metal is only doing 16 million in revenue whilst 3D Systems is doing over 550 million.

3D systems has a bigger margin of 40% which is fantastic. But it still remains the question why isn't this stock trading higher then. It only has a 3.2 billion dollar market cap. But I will get into that later. Then desktop metal. They have a margin that's negative 91%. That might seem a bit weird, which it is. They are losing almost double the amount of money they receive when selling the product. And then Markforged, previously AONE. They have a whopping 58% margin. And they are a pretty new company as well.

Then we're going to take a look at some other key metrics. Which are the opperating expenses. XONE did 59 million in sales, spent 44 million on producing the product but also spent another 28 million on opperating expenses. And I devided this one up and calculated how much they are dedicating to which. Because in my opinion from running a company a bit myself, it always seems way easier to reduce the Research and development expenses. And they should ease down after years of running your company.

So looking at these numbers, which one would I pick? Well, I'm mostly buying Markforged. Because I like their growth and the clear path that they have, and the management as well. Secondly I would chose either XONE or Desktop Metals. And this is where it comes down to preference. If you want to invest in a new company that's capable of doing exponential growth, then go for Desktop Metals. You could also say that they are safer because of the large market cap, but they are also still a new company.
