Spectacular Muker Wildflower Meadows Walk, Swaledale | Yorkshire Dales National Park

MUKER MEADOWS WALK: In the north of the Yorkshire Dales National Park you will find the unspoilt beauty of Swaledale. In this video we show you a 6 mile circular route from the village of Muker to Keld , which now has to be a new contender for my favourite Yorkshire Dales walk.

Wander through colourful Muker hay meadows dotted with old stone barns. The Muker area is one of the best places to see the remarkable hay meadows, which are some of the best in the Yorkshire Dales. Several of the meadows at Muker are protected as part of the Muker meadows Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Look out for wildflowers and grasses such as Buttercups, Wood Crane’s-bill, Yellow Rattle, Pignut, and more!

The walk will also take you past several waterfalls including East Gill Force and Kisdon Force. You can also take a short detour to explore the abandoned Crackpot Hall: a 17th century abandoned farm house with far reaching views across the dramatic landscape of Swaledale.
