Welcome to our walkin aviary n bird room -2 - Moments to remember ~ 2012

We never forget our pets, no matter how many months or years go by, the love we shared always fresh in our minds. We smile remembering all the things they did that made us laugh. Our hearts swell thinking of the endearing way that they squawks and say " good morning" when sun is up, they love cuddled and play with us. They gave us that make quick little kiss sounds and say " I love you " before their bed time. We could never forget the happiness they brought with them when they came into our home.

I show them affection every single day so they will know in the moment, that they are cherished. How great it would be if the feeling of that moment could last forever in their hearts. But if it's not to be, I am content just knowing that every day we are together, my birds feel loved.

*Andy the CAG -- An african Grey came to us from a Mickaboo foster. His Story we found out from his 2nd owner. Andy lived in a very small cage in the garage for many years. Andy never see any Vet before even after his injury. His beak got caught in the toy keys while first owner was traveling. Our priority was to bring Andy to the vet for a full evaluation. We decided to give Andy a forever home. Since Dr. Sanders told us that Andy's his lower beak became wider than the upper and sticks out. The lower beak is also split in the center. He requires life time monthly veterinary care for beak trimming.
*Pepe the Amazon - We adopted him in Sep. 2008. He was found outdoors, Pepe was taken to a local shelter in the hopes that his owner might find him. He calmly stepped out onto my extended arm while people tried to find gloves to catch him. His feathers were smelled badly liked engine oil. When he moved around, he slipped and had trouble perching. He was not well, we took him to the vet to treat an infection. He was born with deformities on both feet, but have not slowed him down. He is a great talker, content to entertain him self for hours at a time just playing with his toys.
Prissy- She was born in 2003, with her same owners for eight years.  She came with some of great toys so they must have loved her.   Somehow she is slightly plucked.  When I brought her to the vet, the Doctor wondered her chest and wings plucking maybe came from stress or injury and she maybe didn't know how to land from the bad wing trimmed.  She loves to forage as well.  She is a traveler, constantly on the go, she loves to shred, chew and dig like a dog.  She is sweet as pie and steps up to anyone. She is a great talker.  When I told her can you go to inside (the cage)  she said "what's different".  Then I said to her, "I be right back", she said "bad girl" I told her again, can you stay here (her cage) she said to me" fine, whatever".
Chiquita- was with her original owner for 7? years. Her owner wanted to give her away because that they felt wasn't giving her the level of care she needed. Her foster mom had brought her over to meet us, she thought we were the best home to suit Chiquita's needs. Chiquita is a bird that never knew how to fly. She would be slipping falling and didn't know how to get up herself. Her beak becomes uneven, overgrown and oddly shaped, requiring a beak trim to correct it. Chiquita has somewhat of music obsession. She likes to sway and dance with the music. She is about 12 years old in 2013.
*Gray- Our 1st cockatiel, we bought him home from a breeder with another cockatiel, we named her Pearl. Gray was hatched on Dec. 20? 1995 hatched date Dec. 20? 1995. His mate our beloved Pearl died suddenly while I was at work. It was a week before her 2 years old hatch date. Gray is a most friendly little cockatiel. He was that one bought me into most enjoyable aspects of the relationships with our feather's friends.
*Danny- The owner who sold him to us used him as a breeder to breed and sell baby birds. This was the same Breeder from whom we got our first 2 Cockatiels Gray and Pearl. She told us that Danny was 2 years old in January of 1997.
*Junior- Her hatched date is April 3, 1997. She had developed an cataract on her right eye and has been red, swollen and blind when she was very young age. I took her to several vets included the eye specialist for animal in 1998. None of the vets could not do anything about it except remove the eye or apply eye drops for the swollen.  She does not appear to be in any distress and other than no vision, she is function just fine, acting normal for all these years.
*Charlie, Baby and Maggie- We saw they all looked ill, sat on the bottom of dirty cage at Birdmarts, We decided to buy them and give them a good home. Charlie was about 6 months old as we were told in July 1996. Baby and Maggie were only a few months old in Nov, 1998.
