Oh Nail No!

Burt the yellow-naped Amazon parrot was just part of the wildlife program I presented at the Grafton Lakes State Park yesterday, August 31, 2013. My theme was herbivores but I could not resist bringing the boy. Jill the Degu represented a live plant eating animal. Specimens from North America rounded out the program with a "Shadow Know-How" game board. Everyone got to give Burt a treat but he would not take it from a woman with purple nails. I thought he didn't like the color as once he turned away from a purple perch. But no! He would not take a seed from a lady with parrot green nails either. So, it seems Burt does not like long fingernails. Maybe he thinks they are claws!
