Légère, a company based in Canada, have been making waves in the saxophone world lately with their innovative synthetic reeds that are designed to outlast and outplay their traditional cane counterparts.

In particular, their new American Cut and Signature Series line of reeds are supposed to feel and play more like the reeds we all know and love. According to Légère, the American Cut reed is designed for the jazz player in mind, with a free blowing brightness and projection that the genre demands.

But how do these reeds stack up against each other? Can YOU tell the difference between the cane Vandoren Java reed, and the two new Légère reeds? In this video, Jeremy pits these reeds against each other in a blind test, and shares his thoughts on whether these new synthetic reeds might be right for you.
