What Reed Strength Should You Use?

What reed strength should you use? Sometimes it is very hard to make a decision if we should play on a size 2 or 2.5 reed, a size 2.5 or 3, or a size 3 or 3.5. In this video I talk about a few concepts I have developed in choosing and sticking with a reed strength, as well as offering some points on the subtle differences each strength has to offer. I use vandoren blue box reeds, yamaha ex sax with a silver plated V1 neck, Berg Larsen 120 mouthpiece, and a Marc Jean Ligature.
