On 20 February 2023, the carnival season 2023 opened in Düsseldorf. The first street carnival since the pandemic attracted thousands of visitors from Düsseldorf and the surrounding area to the Rosenmontag. The Rosenmontag procession started at 12:20 p.m. with almost 11,000 carnival-goers taking part in the parade.

The German Rosenmontag is almost equal to the Carnival in Brazil in terms of beauty and costumes - a sea of excitement and impressions. You'll find costumed bands of musicians, people on horseback and dance groups moving to groovy music. Cars are also often decorated for the occasion - cardboard figurines larger than a human being. Carnival-goers often use these figures as a way of making fun of politicians and their agendas. Below I would like to share some photos and videos of themselves. Enjoy watching them.
