LARGE FAMILY COOKING | HUGE STOCKPOT OF HOMEMADE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP!

It's fall! That means on any given Saturday I'm either making a huge stockpot full of soup, or I'm resisting the urge to make a mega stockpot of homemade soup. Last Saturday I made the family up a mega stockpot of homemade chicken noodle soup. I used our homegrown and home processed chickens to make the broth and cooked meat. I chopped up a bunch of celery, carrots, and onion. I added in Thyme and make other spices. Later I cooked up 24 oz of egg noodles for our noodles. LARGE FAMILY CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP RECIPE

2-3 lbs of chicken
2 lbs of peeled and chopped carrots
1 bunch of chopped celery
1 peeled and chopped onion
1/4 cup of minced garlic
1 tsp Thyme
1 tsp Basil
1 tsp Rosemary
1 tsp Parsley
3-4 Bay Leaves
1 tsp Salt/Pepper (more/less per family preferences)
24 oz of cooked and drained noodles of choice (spaghetti noodles, penne, macaroni, egg noodles - whatever your favorite noodle is that's available.)

** Place 2-3 lbs of chicken in a large 22 qt stockpot. Fill pot 2/3 of the way with water. Bring chicken to boil and cook for at least an hour until fully cooked and a nice broth is made. If bone-in chicken, pour the homemade chicken stock through a colander, draining all stock into another large pot. Pick out all bones and remove them completely. You can save the chicken bones to make a longer homemade bone broth later (I freeze mine to save for later).

** Pour combine homemade chicken broth, chicken meat, vegetables, and seasonings together in a large stockpot and cook on medium-high until hot and bubbly. Before serving add in 24 oz of cooked egg noodles, penne, spaghetti noodles, or other noodles of your choice.
