How To Import & Clean Messy Accounting Data in Excel | Use Power Query to Import SAP Data

In this Excel for Accounting tutorial you'll learn how to use Power Query to import messy SAP data extracts into Excel. Importing data from ERP systems like SAP or Oracle into Excel can be a pain. The data is usually very messy. You need to clean and organize the data to be able to use it in Excel reports. In this tutorial I'll show you 2 practical examples on how you can use Excel Power Query or Get and Transform in Excel to do the work for you. We also create an Excel Pivot Table to analyze the imported data. The great thing with Power Query is that the import is automatic. It's like a macro. Every time we get a new SAP data extract, we just have to refresh our Excel table and all the steps to organize the data will be automatically applied.
