How to Save your Driver's License AFTER your DUI Arrest

The Department of Licensing has a well earned reputation. They have great power, are difficult to contact, provide incorrect documents that affect a driver's ability to lawfully drive and their impact can be monumental to the life of the driver. Following an arrest for DUI it is very important that the driver check the paperwork provided by law enforcement. The first document is the DUI Request for Hearing. This document provides information to the driver on how to request a hearing to save a license from being suspended. Following an arrest for DUI, the driver's license will be suspended 30 days later (if the BAC was 0.08 or over or if the driver refused the breath or blood test). The driver only has 7 days to request a hearing. Should a driver lose their privilege to drive, an ignition interlock license can be obtained to continue to lawfully drive.
