As a followup to Video 1, Washington State DUI Defense Attorney Jennifer Witt discusses the chemical dependency assessment process. She specifically addresses the different types of recommendations that they treatment providers will make. There are five different levels of treatment can can be suggested based on the outcome of the assessment.

Level 1. No Significant Problem (NSP). The recommended treatment is usually Alcohol Drug Information School and a DUI Victim's Impact Panel
Level 2. This is mild to moderate substance abuse disorder.
Level 3. Moderate to severe substance abuse disorder.
Level 4. Severe drug and alcohol dependency.
Level 5. Severe drug and alcohol dependency which requires hospitalization.

Jennifer discusses the treatment modality for each level and what is usually required.

Lastly, Jennifer discusses the option of getting a second opinion. This is something that can be frowned upon by some courts, so make sure you consult your attorney before you start "evaluation shopping."
