Eating Disorders: When Light is Dark | Anastasia Broder | TEDxLSE
Dedicated to tackling the stigma around mental illnesses, and eating disorders in particularly, Anastasia discusses her own personal experience battling EDNOS in hopes of generating conversation and shedding light onto misunderstood aspects of the problem. Anastasia is passionate about poetry, literature, and theatre, leading her to be heavily involved with the Drama Society as a Vice President at the LSE. Since the age of 15, she has struggled with an eating disorder known as EDNOS, and through her experience she has realised the predominance of stigma and stereotypes around this particular mental issue. Her issues have led her to take interest in both charity and healthcare, and she hopes to be more involved in both fields in the future. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
