Introduction to Qumulus Cloud Platform | Ep 103

The birth of the public cloud has created new realities, that developers all seem to be taking for granted, high costs, not owning your hardware, and slow performance.

The industry is slowly waking up to this and as a result, cloud repatriation is becoming the next new thing.

It has suddenly dawned on some people that buying your own hardware can be 5 or even 10 times cheaper and that metered usage isn’t really that much fun.

At one point, It seemed like on-premise servers were becoming a thing of the past, however, the data is showing a different picture, as the private cloud market is predicted to grow at 30% per year over the next years vs 23% per year for the public cloud market.

Setting up a private cloud can seem daunting. What if there was a way to enjoy the best of both worlds? Imagine having a private cloud that's as easy to use as the public cloud, with no setup fees, with pay-as-you-go pricing, but still enjoying the cost savings, performance, and security benefits of running on your own hardware. This is exactly the problem Qumulus is aiming to solve.

Team Qumuls has now been awarded a UK Smart Innovate Smart Grant of £350,000 to build the next phase which is a “Unified Developer Platform”
