A new approach to sealing gastrointestinal wounds

At present, endoscopic tools used to close perforations mainly include traditional titanium clip (TTSC), purse suture, and OTSC (Over-the-scope Clip) system. Wound closure devices should be simple, quick and effective. The researchers have developed a novel type of endoscopic clip called the novel transendoscopic conjoined bimetallic clip (TTS-TC) system (Figure 1). The TTS-TC can function directly through the 3.2 mm endoscopic biopsy orifice and does not have to be mounted on the endoscope or aided by any other endoscopic accessories.
