'Joburg city refuse backlog should be cleared in a week'
The City of Johannesburg's waste collector Pikitup says the backlog of
refuse in the city should be cleared within a week with the help of
external service providers.
Waste has been piling up in some areas as protests continue by
contract workers who are decrying alleged unfair labour practices by
Pikitup.
While the company further probes the allegations, it sought an
interdict against protesting staff.
