She's no stranger to controversy, dedicating her most recent book, 'My Life on the Road' to the man who gave her an abortion at the age of 22, allowing her to live a life of activism.
Emily Maitlis sat down to talk her about transgender women, Beyonce and whether the Presidential campaign is a feminist issue.
