In this video, Jack and Clayton are going to talk about a very specific way of thinking and approaching dating and relationships.

What is this that you may be doing that's pushing him away?

It's not necessarily just a behavior. It's not something that you're necessarily doing externally, although it might manifest like that. But where it starts is in the black-and-white thinking.

WHAT IS BLACK AND WHITE THINKING?

It is a way of thinking about the situation that you're in with a guy in a very black-and-white stance. Now black and white thinking, the reason people work with a coach is so they can start to see the shades of gray in anything that looks like a challenge because when we see things in a very black-and-white sense, we tend to show up incredibly constricted. We showed up shut down. We show up looking for the answer to a closed-ended question. Now to make sure that this lands, let's talk about some areas where we see women tend to show up with this black and white thinking around dating as perhaps silent questions that they're trying to answer in their mind when they're with a guy.

[01:15] I Trust Him or I Don’t Trust Him

If you're in black and white thinking you've kind of got two options: one is trust them 100%, the other is trust him 0%.

[01:56] I’m Not Interested with Him or I’m REALLY Interested

Number two might be I'm not interested in him or I'm super interested in him.

KEY QUESTIONS:
How does that feel to show up that way if those are your only options? How much room for curiosity is there? How much room for your playfulness and your charm to come out is there if these are the questions that you're trying to answer? Are you gonna be yourself or are you approaching this almost with like armor on? It's like you're either leaning too far this way or you’re leaning too far this way.

[02:38] Is He Going to Commit or NOT Commit?

It's like is he gonna commit or not? Is he committed?

[03:28] Premature Certainty Creates More Uncertainty

Some ways these questions are there as safety patterning because you were looking for certainty. Even if you're getting the answer for those questions, it doesn't provide certainty. It makes it may be even less trust.
