Young Opossum raids the cat food

I feed three or four feral cats who come & go outside my back door & along with them a host of suburban wildlife, including this young opossum. This one is no longer a joey, but it's not fully grown either. I'm always surprised by the opossum's & cats' ability to coexist — probably because this opossum is bigger than the usual prey for cats, though they do occasionally get a squirrel.
