Kayaking Tips - Vilano Landing - St. Augustine, FL- August 2020 - Kayaking Tips

During this kayaking trip we explore St. Augustine, FL from the Vilano Landing (a.k.a. Vilano Boat Ramp). Several kayaking tips are offered for visitors to the area. We also see several St. Augustine landmarks including: the Lady of La Leche Cross, the Castillo de San Marcos, Flagler College, the Bridge of Lions, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse.

We didn't have as much wildlife as we usually do on this trip but were able to get up close and personal with a native roseate spoonbill! If you're considering kayaking in St. Augustine, FL, this location is fantastic, but not for beginners. The currents from the Vilano Inlet are incredibly strong and the area is riddled with oyster beds. Watch the tide tables closely and plan accordingly.
