Fried Lotus Root Box is a very popular deep fried dish from Zhejiang, you can find it at restaurants and at street food stalls all around China from the south to the north. It's also a nice dish for home cooking. It's crispy on the outside and the marinated pork mince inside gives the dish a very rich flavor.

The lotus root we used in this video was already peeled. You may also find lotus roots with skin depending on your local Chinese supermarket, in this case, don't forget to peel them. Also, make sure to mix the pork mince well so it can act like 'glue' between two slices of lotus root.
