Kate Nikitska, who was a 2022-23 Ukraine Fellow at Wellesley College's Suzy Newhouse Center for the Humanities, gives a Zoom lecture (from Kyiv) on the translation of the Gilgamesh epic done by Nikolai Gumilev, a brilliant early-twentieth-century Russian poet.
The talk will fascinate anyone with even a tangential interest in the ancient Near East, Russian literature, archaeology, translation studies, epic, or modern poetry.
