Mel’s Hole: The Mystery That Never Ends#history #ancienthistory #

Mel’s Hole is one of the strangest modern legends to come out of the Pacific Northwest. The story began in 1997, when a man calling himself Mel Waters phoned into the radio show Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. He claimed to have discovered a bottomless pit on his rural property near Ellensburg, Washington.

According to Mel, the hole was around 9 feet wide, perfectly circular, and seemed infinitely deep—even after dropping a fishing line over 80,000 feet, he never hit the bottom. He said locals used it to dump garbage and dead animals, but the animals would later be seen alive again, fueling eerie rumors of supernatural power.

The government allegedly seized Mel’s land and erased all records of its location, adding to the mystery. No verifiable evidence of the hole has ever been found, yet stories persist of strange lights, time distortions, and government cover-ups surrounding it.

To this day, Mel’s Hole remains an unsolved mystery—a blend of folklore, conspiracy, and the endless human fascination with what lies beneath.
