Our journey across Mexico took an unexpected turn…We were stopped at the ferry port in La Paz and faced unexpected taxes for our drone—no clear explanation, just five officers and rising tension.Was it a scam? Was it legit?
After that, we weren’t even sure we’d make it on the ferry. Over 30 vehicles on the waiting list and no guarantee for us.But somehow, we made it—camping on top of a cargo ship, sweating through the night, and finally landing in beautiful Mazatlán.
From there, it was new friends, a city camp in Tepic, and a tour of a full-time Tesla overlander’s setup.This is what overlanding is all about—challenges, connections, and finding the beauty in chaos.
