A whole lot can happen in 3 years! 🫶🏼🥹

March 2020: I was working my first ‘real’ job after completing my B.A. in Psychology! I was a research assistant at a hospital laboratory. It made me sound ✨fancy and accomplished✨ but I hated it. The 9-5 lifestyle was NOT for me and I always viewed the job as temporary… I didn’t quite know what I wanted to do instead but I knew I wanted it to involve my true passion: pole dancing. When the pandemic hit, I was so happy to work from home. All of a sudden, I had a lot more time to practice on my home pole. I eventually started teaching online lessons and building my social media, which provided alternative sources of income. I realized that I don’t need to be tied to a 9-5 and that my passion can also bring me income. I told myself my goal is to never again work full-time for someone else. 😌

March 2023: Fast forward 3 years later, I used my savings to launch my own brand Divinity Polewear.🥰 While I still haven’t paid myself with the business income, things are overall pretty great! Choosing not to work a 9-5 was the best thing I could’ve done for my mental health. My income varies each month and I am nowhere near ‘financially stable’ but I am happy! Some months I’m a little stressed about my finances but then the universe hands me other opportunities. Random gigs or brand deals have come to me at the best times. I am totally aware that this might sound delusional to some, but I’ve been trusting that the universe has my back for the past 3 years and it has yet to fail me. 🫶🏼
