'Not fit to run': Victorian Government’s lies and coverups are the ‘real disease’

Panama Dining Room owner Luke Stepsys says the Victorian Government’s record of systematic coverups and deceit throughout the pandemic is the “real disease” which needs to be combatted.

Victoria faces an uncertain future with fears the current lockdown could be extended after the state recorded an additional five cases overnight, bringing the state’s total to 78 cases.

Mr Stepsys says the state government’s approach has delivered a “knockout blow” to businesses and called on fellow Victorians to “rise up”.

“The leadership in the state with its blame and its lies and its coverups, this to me is the real disease in Victoria,” he told Sky News.

“Every time there are new cases, we’re sent straight into lockdown … the Victorian government have no faith in their own people and they have no faith in their own systems, our elected leaders are not fit to run the state.

“They just continue with the rhetoric, the strong words, the exaggerations just to justify our fourth, and what will most likely be our most crippling lockdown, and this will be a lockdown that delivers a knockout blow to plenty of businesses.

“It’s time for Victorians to rise up and say enough is enough … otherwise there is going to be nothing left of this great state.”
