Trane XR AC Compressor Momentary Amp Spike - Diagnosing Internal Scroll Damage

In this short clip, we demonstrate the amperage spike observed when the compressor of a Trane XR air conditioning unit attempts to energize. The compressor momentarily spikes from 4.29A to 14.89A, showing a brief overload ("OL") condition before settling back to a low baseline of approximately 1.16A. This amperage spike is accompanied by a distinct mechanical buzzing or "burr-like" noise, indicating an internal scroll compressor issue.

This specific symptom, combined with previous diagnostics showing identical suction and discharge pressures (238 psi and 240 psi, respectively), confirms internal scroll compressor damage (scroll plate failure). The recommended repair is compressor or condenser unit replacement.
