Govee Bluetooth Digital Hygrometer for Attic Temperature Monitoring

I am currently in the prospect of vetting different spray foam insulation contractors along with weighing alternative attic insulation methods. I wanted to establish a baseline measurement of how hot it gets in the attic at peak outdoor temperature. According to what I've read online it shouldn't be above 20 degrees of the outdoor temperature. If above, then insulating your attic would help to mitigate the heat gain that occurs. Either that or installing an attic fan to alleviate the heat gain that occurs throughout the day.

Having said that, I found this device manufactured by Govee that allows me to sync the temperature & relative humidity measurements directly to my phone to understand how the temperature fluctuates throughout the day in the attic. As a result of the first day of data, I found that the attic peaked at around 125 degrees at 2:30PM on 25 August 2021. There are a bit of drastic fluctuations in temperature that follows after that time period which makes me wonder if the device was getting overheated since previous to that moment it was steadily increasing and after about an hour or so decreasing in the linear fashion one would expect temperature fluctuations to occur.

Anywho, I highly recommend this device to anyone interested in understanding how hot their attic becomes throughout the day and also thereby coming to grips with the affect it may have on their ability to properly condition the rooms directly beneath the attic area. Here is a direct link to the device should you desire to purchase one.
