Hello everyone, in today's video we will be discussing the disappearance of 1st Lt. Matthew Kraft.

Matthew was only 24 years old when he went missing on February 23, 2019.
He was on a 195 mile trek/ski adventure on the Sierra High Route. He planned to finish up at the Twin Lakes area near Bridgeport, CA just north of Yosemite National Park on March 4th or 5th, however he never showed up. His father contacted the Mono County Sheriff’s Office on March 4, 2019 after not hearing from his son for several days. The official search started on March5, 2019.
The Sierra high route is a difficult hike, and has elevations ranging from 9,000 to 12,000 feet.

Matthew's cellphone last pinged in the Independence area. The search area encompassed an area of roughly 400 square miles.

2019 was a record snow year and search efforts were hampered by major winter storms.
Matthew Kraft remains missing to this day.
