Anouk Yeh, a 17-year-old from Saratoga, California, talks about her journey with spoken word poetry and how she is using it to start important conversations in her community. Anouk Yeh is a seventeen year old spoken word poet and organizer from the Bay Area. She was the 2018 Cupertino City Youth Poetry Slam Champion and a 2020 National Student Poet Program semifinalist. She serves as a California delegate to the International Congress of Youth Voices and is the founding Executive Director of Celebrating Differences Organization, a nonprofit focused on promoting neurodivergent awareness and inclusivity. Yeh’s work has been recognized by Stanford University, YoungArts and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, among others and published in the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Reappropriate Journal and the Times Herald.
