High pressure brings sunny conditions for most areas this afternoon. A weak front leaves thicker cloud across southern Scotland and northern England, limiting sunshine there. Shetland turns brighter as earlier showers fade. Northern Ireland and southern parts of the UK enjoy plenty of sunshine with a lighter breeze. Temperatures reach the mid to high teens for many, but will be cooler under the cloud.- This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the afternoon of 19/03/2026.
