Anymore (Travis Tritt) - Cover by John Scott

Hi Friends! Been a bit again. I've been doing some small improvements on my studio. Mainly sound treatment to try to get my small room sounding better on recordings. Think I got it figured out. Started doing a lot of recording of acoustic guitar to get a feel for the mics in the room. So I went a little ape shit and an ended up recording 10 acoustic songs lol. These really represent songs that I am most likely to just start playing when I pick up my guitar because they have or are touching me deeply and I just love to sing them. This also gave me a good chance to rehearse these 10 songs just a little deeper in case I get out and do this live. So welcome to this "Unplugged From Your Couch" series!

Why I chose this song…

1. This is probably one of my favorite songs from the '90s era of Country Music. And to me is one of the most powerful unrequited love songs I've ever heard. The desperation in the lyrics really shows though and feels so real if you are in that space. The songwriters really captured it in my opinion.

2. Again, as with many of the videos I've done, this is always a song I wanted to perform and have never really had a chance to. This song really spoke to me and as I have been working on my acoustic set list over the last few months. I can't seem to not play it when I pick up my guitar. Good sign that it's a good song for my set list.

3. The challenge – Travis Tritt's delivery of this song is incredible in my opinion. He really brought these great lyrics alive and added even more emotion to an already emotional lyric. I really admire his talent and especially on this song. To be honest, this is another one that I was a little hesitant to try because of that. But once I dug into it I think I was able to find my own voice in this song. I hope I did it justice!
