SOLO WILD CAMPING in Wales - FASTPACKING adventure Brecon Beacons

The Brecon Beacons were the location for a Fastpacking adventure which would involve solo wild camping in Wales.

Fastpacking is much like backpacking but with the aim of travelling light and moving quicker over the ground. However, I’m not sure I quite qualify as an ultralight backpacker on this trip – new gear camping gear needed! Fastpacking suits my love for trail running - particularly trail running in the mountains.

I started my fastpacking adventure at Henrhyd Falls. A beautiful waterfall location that was used for the filming of the batcave in the Dark Knight Rises.

I travelled North over the rugged terrain of the Brecon Beacons towards Llyn Fan Y Fach and Llyn Fan Y Fawr. Two beautiful lakes nestled beside a mountain ridge.

It was beside Llyn Fan Y Fawr that I would end up solo wild camping. A fantastic spot for solo wild camping!

This fastpacking adventure was all about spending time in nature with my own thoughts and enjoying the challenge of moving across the landscape. I left satisfied but of course inspired to take on my adventures.
