How to Crochet A Scalloped Edge on a Sleeveless Knitted Top [DIY STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL]

There was some interest for a tutorial on how to #crochet this little #scallopededge to the ‘My Little Secret Crop’ by Jessie Maed (@jessssiemae). And it’s here! You do need some beginner crochet know-how. If you don’t, maybe this is the project that gets you learning?

CROP TOP PATTERN:

MATERIALS (for the scalloped edge on my top):
Yarn: Fingering weight cotton blend, double-strand
Hook: 5.00mm


MATERIALS (in this video):

Yarn: Aran weight wool blend
Hook: 5.00mm

ABBREVIATIONS:
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
st = stitch

WRITTEN PATTERN:


Scalloped Edge
1. Start at bottom right strap
2. Make 1 single crochet by insert hook into first stitch at bottom end of right strap
3. Skip 1 st, make 5 dc in the following st
4. Skip 1 st, sl st in the following st
5. Continue (3) + (4), working along the outer edge of the right strap and across the front ribbing
6. Make sure you make a sl st into the outer edge of the left strap as you work up the left strap
7. Continue (3) + (4) until you reach the bottom end of left strap
8. Bind off


Ruffled Edge

1. Start at bottom right strap
2. Make 1 single crochet by insert hook into first stitch at bottom end of right strap
3. Make 8 dc in the next st, sl st in the following st
4. Repeat (3), working along the outer edge of the right strap and across the front ribbing
5. Make sure you make a sl st into the outer edge of the left strap as you work up the left strap
6. Continue (3) until you reach the bottom end of left strap
7. Bind off
