Water Park Tragedy: 10-Year-Old Boy Dies On World’s Tallest Waterslide

A huge attraction at Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City was a slide that opened in 2014 called Verrückt, which means "insane" in German. It stood at 169 feet tall, had a 60-degree drop and riders could reach speeds of up to 70mph. It was the world's tallest waterslide.

In 2016, one family's fun day out turned into a nightmare when 10-year-old Caleb Schwab was killed while riding Verrückt. The raft he was in went airborne. The shocking accident gained nationwide attention, and brought to light issues in safety measures at a place where people thought they could trust to feel protected.
