It can be scary and confusing for anyone suffering from an eating disorder, and most of the time people are too scared to ask for help. I personally suffered for 8 years with anorexia and bulimia. Now working as a nutritionist, yoga instructor and eating disorder counseller, I have found that the majority of information out there is so outdated and is in NO WAY accurate for targeting the little signs which truly let you know whether the individual is suffering. Remember these articles are written by academic individuals who haven't experienced the disease themselves and therefore rely on the openness of participants (who still feel ashamed about revealing all of the details.)
