The Xeikon 3500 is a top performing digital front-end folding carton press.
Here follow some key specifications. The Xeikon 3500
• prints on a wide range of board types (GC1, GC2, GD1,…),
• folds and prints on B2 format or bigger,
• has 5 print stations for CMYK plus orange and superblack and has a broad color gamut for low and high quality,
• prints out 1630 B2 sheets/hour, which makes that it can handle low and high folding carton production volumes,
• has dedicated dry toners, which don’t contain mineral oils, has high-light fastness, and is food-safe.

For making the carton folding production complete, every set-up offers a choice out of auxiliary equipment that matches your folding carton printing machine: unwinder, rewinder, inline web varnishing module for water-based and or UV spot varnish, Alpine fuser drum, a stacker, offline flatbed diecut unit... You name it. These equipments are also explained and shown in the video. The Alpine fuser drum comes with the Xeikon 3500 and is especially designed to handle the folding carton substrates. The Alpine fuser drum has a flexible outer layer to help to produce smooth and consistent print on uneven and textured media, especially recycled board stocks.

The next step in the food packaging process is the web varnishing module, which applies a spot varnish supplied by Actega. In this case it is a spot varnish that is food-safe, because it is of the water-based type. The web varnishing module runs in-line with Xeikon 3000 presses, at full press speeds, and the print roller can be changed easily to match the repeat or width of the job being printed.
Then the carton substrate is cutted into sheets, blank or test sheets will be rejected by the waste separator and after that the sheets will be piled in the pile high stacker. The pile will be brought to the device from Kurz, the DM-liner.
Finally, Bograma will cut these sheets into ready to fold cartons. After that, your folding carton for food packaging is ready for delivery.
