Pujya Sri Swamiji on Yamuna River, Brahmanda Ghat on 25th September 2013

I had the blessed occasion to travel on a boat with Pujya Sri Appaji on Yamuna River in Nanda Gokul village near Mathura, the childhood places of Sri Krishna Devaru. This spot on the river is said to be the place where Vasudeva (Krishna's father) took baby Krishna in a basket from Mathura (Krishna's birth place) and crossed Yamuna river to reach Nanda Gokul village's safety. There is "Vasudev Ghat" on the other side of the river. Yamuna river parted and allowed safe passage to Vasudeva and baby Krishna. This is also the place where Yashoda (Krishna's foster mother) scolded child Krishna thinking Krishna was eating mud by river bank and asked Krishna to open his mouth to scoop out the mud. But what she saw in Krishna's mouth astounded her. She saw the entire galaxy (Brahmanda) in child Krishna's mouth. This reinforced her belief that Krishna was God incarnate. Hence the place where we boarded the boat is named "Brahmanda Ghat". Sri Swamiji travelled Mathura and Nanda Gokul on 25th September 2013. A blessed and divine event.
