Meet The $100 Billion Company Behind The S&P 500

The S&P 500 is one of the cornerstones of investing. S&P Global was originally a merger of two stock news companies called Poor & Company and Standard Statistics Company. The joint company was eventually bought by McGraw Hill, and for decades McGraw Hill was the people behind the index. But, more recently, they changed their name to S&P Global to better represent their financial business. This video explains the story of S&P Global and how they became the king of index funds.
