Texoma Excellence in Fine Arts Scholarship Winner Zavier Talamantes

We are delighted to honor Zavier Talamantes with a $1,000 Texoma Excellence in Fine Arts Scholarship.

Zavier has been actively involved in both band and theatre, dedicating five years to band and three years to theatre. Through these programs, he has grown into an exceptional leader and performer who consistently sets the standard for excellence.

In band, Zavier’s leadership and discipline shine. He was named Drum Major this year, a role that reflects not only his musical ability but also his responsibility, work ethic, and humility. Zavier is a self-starter who practices diligently, encourages those around him, and helps create a focused, supportive ensemble.

In theatre, Zavier’s creativity truly comes to life. He approaches every project—onstage and behind the scenes—with enthusiasm, professionalism, and collaboration. Since joining theatre, Zavier has grown from a shy, reserved student into a confident leader whose positivity brings energy and encouragement to everyone around him. His dedication has helped his One Act Play company advance to Area competition twice, a testament to his commitment and teamwork.

Looking ahead, Zavier plans to pursue a career as a theatre teacher, with the goal of sharing the confidence, joy, and sense of belonging that theatre has given him. His teachers describe him as dependable, motivated, and always willing to go above and beyond—qualities that will make him an incredible educator and mentor.
