On June 1, Opera Gallery London hosted a live recording event of Alayo Akinkugbe’s podcast ‘A Shared Gaze’ featuring artist Anya Paintsil, writer John-Baptiste Oduor, and Executive Director of La Foundation for the Arts in Ghana Chantel Akworkor Thompson. Held during London Gallery Weekend on the occasion of the gallery’s exhibition ‘The Whole World Smiles with You,’ curated by Alayo Akinkugbe, the panelists discussed the exhibition’s central themes tied to black figuration.
