History Hunting the River Thames. Rare WWII Coin! GPO Find! Antique Pottery! Mudlarking 28.09.20

Hello Mudlarking Friends,

Join me down on the River Thames Foreshore to unlock some liquid history. We're all about the small metal items today, and, of course, we'll be taking a look at some antique pottery classics. Ever thought a drainage system could be alluring? Of course you did!

Be warned - there's a bit of swoopy, shaky camera work. Sea sickness sufferers, try your best. And yes, I'll be getting a new microphone when funds allow.

Remember to check out instagram.com/oldfatherthames, where I add heaps more information about and photos of my finds, including items of historical importance that I have recorded with the PAS at the Museum of London!

With continued thanks to Richard Hemery for the help with identifying pottery pieces and advice on the land drain fragment. His book, Identifying the Pottery of the Thames is available to buy here:

Now, without further ado, let's hit the foreshore...
