Joao Carlos Martins is a very famous Brazillian musician. He is known as a pianist and a maestro, who has performed more than 1600 concerts across the US, Europe, and Brazil.

In the span of 60 years of his debut, he has performed live concerts to at least 16 million people. Martins is considered one of the greatest interpreters of Bach’s music in the twentieth century, having recorded Bach’s complete works for keyboard.

Once a child music prodigy, Martins became a famous concert pianist but his career as a professional pianist did not last long. Though desperate he could not play the piano again but that was a turning point in his musical career.

Martins never gave up so, he reinvented himself as a conductor and founded the Bachiana Filarmonica Orchestra which later toured across the world performing to millions of audiences. But his love for piano never ceased.

After over 2 decades Martins was able to play the piano again and that was the most emotional moment in his life.
