The last preparatory work is done prior to the actual build including creating some initial directories and creating a user which is used to build the initial temporary system.

In this series of videos I demonstrate how to install LFS 12.1 on real hardware, replacing the Windows 11 system that is already installed on the disk. If you've never built Linux From Scratch before, don't worry as I show every step in detail from beginning to end. From fetching and writing a bootable host Linux USB in Windows, disk configuration, fetching sources and compiling, right through to configuration and booting the final operating system, it's all recorded in these videos.

The end result is a fully working Linux From Scratch system all built from publicly available open source code using the excellent instructions in the Linux From Scratch 12.1 book.
